I hope you find these pages useful and informative. Now that you are here please take the time to go to the Appointments and Enquiries page and send me an email. Any information you send me is strictly held in confidence. You can enquire about a counselling session or ask a general question about counselling.

What is Counselling?

There are many styles or approaches to counselling. When I talk of counselling, I use the term in the same way as psychotherapy because that's what my training was all about. This means that counselling can be a way of unpacking the awkward, heavy burdens that stop us living fully.  If we unpack them we can sort through them and make choices about what beleifs, meanings, habits etc. to throw and what to keep.

In my style of counselling I occasionally do give direct advice as you might expect from a "guidance counsellor". Clients come to counselling because some aspect of their lives is causing them pain so you can expect that I will call a spade ''a spade" and leave you in no doubt as to what I see happening.

I truly believe that everyone has the answers to their own dilemas within them. My role is to help bring new insights and clarity so you can see the answers for yourself. This is not necessarily a comfortable process and requires both of us to bring our adult selves to the sessions Please email me to ask more about this

What practical help is available?

If you are in the middle of a problem why not check out my Rapid Relief page. This advice is not intended as a replacement for counselling but as first aid in dealing with life's challenges.

Where is the practice located?

I am located in Hobart, Tasmania where I have settled after living, working and training in Sydney for several years. The counselling practice is nestled under Mt. Wellington in the popular suburb of West Hobart and is part of the Connections Health and Movement centre.

There is off-street parking available. The closest bus routes are Metro 180, stopping on Warwick St at Lochner St, Metro 4 and 6 stopping at the Landsdowne Crescent stop and walking down Warwick St.
